Morreu nesta sexta-feira (23/5), aos 81 anos, Sebastião Salgado, um dos maiores fotógrafos da história, reconhecido internacionalmente por seu trabalho de fotojornalismo que revelou, com sensibilidade e rigor, a dura realidade de populações em situação de vulnerabilidade ao redor do mundo.
A trajetória de Sebastião Salgado também foi eternizada no cinema. Em 2015, sua vida e carreira foram retratadas no documentário O Sal da Terra, dirigido por seu filho, Juliano Ribeiro Salgado, e pelo cineasta alemão Wim Wenders.

Em uma entrevista, o fotógrafo contou como foi a experiência de se ver diante das câmeras, depois de uma vida inteira atrás delas.
“Não tinha sentido para mim o que eles estavam fazendo. Terminaram toda a parte das imagens e o Juliano foi embora para Berlim para montar o filme com o Win e, quando eles vieram de Berlim com o filme montado, nós tivemos a maior surpresa: era um filme bom! Tinha uma lógica, tinha um poder aquelas imagens. Hoje, quando eu vejo um filme, eu vejo com um grande respeito porque é um grande trabalho”, declarou Salgado.
